Friday the 13th. 13th day in Georgia.
Friday, we had class and got out 3 hours early today. We went and got another rental car and went straight to the beach. We hung out there for about 2 hours, it was fun, I spent about 15 minutes out of the water the whole time. We saw a dolphin about 50 feet off shore and we all thought it was a shark at first since at first, we only saw it's fin. After that, we came back, showered, ate, and went downtown to hang out. We were having a good time, walking around, checking out some cool areas, when all of a sudden a girl comes up and asks us for a light, my buddy had gotten a cigar earlier so he had a light and got her smoking, and he started talking to her, this girl was not that pretty and not that great looking either. She started telling us that her fiance dumped her 2 days before the wedding and she has been walking the streets of Savannah for two weeks and hasn't eaten hardly anything in those two weeks. We kept talking to her and my buddy (he was a little drunk) invited her to come hang with us. We walked around the corner and stopped to talk again (we are still in public, lots of people walking by) and all of a sudden she started grinding on me, I had no idea what to do, so I just had my arms folded and gave weird looks to my friends, then she grinded on my friend and grabbed his you know what.. and then she started talking about how she had the choice between the three of us, and well, one thing led to another AND... we basically told her that we couldn't help her out. she asked us for money after we stopped her from grinding on us. so, we were pretty positive she was a prostitute, and we took off, she tried following us, but we told her NO. it was funny and kinda gross. Anyways, after that, we went back to base. When we got here, everyone had been drinking, and there was one kid surrounded by everyone and he was sweating way bad. I didn't know what was going on, but someone pointed out his Elbow and it was all large and misplaced looking. Apparently, one of the girls here was mad at him because he put his hands on her face and she tried picking him up and then they fell and he dislocated his elbow. Some people took him to the emergency room, and he stayed in the hospital all weekend, and even had to get a surgery on his elbow.
That wraps up Friday.
Saturday. Day 14..
Today we got up early and drove up to Charleston, we had a full day of stuff planned. We got there around 11:30 or so and we went to the place called Patriots Point. We started exploring a Navy Aircraft Carrier that was used in World War 2, it was massive and we explored for about an hour before we had to leave to go on a boat out to Fort Sumpter, Fort Sumpter is an old Civil War Fort. The Civil War started there and was a big part of the war. The boat ride was about 15 - 20 minutes and the fort was on an island in Charleston Harbor really close to the Ocean. We spent an hour at the Fort. It had original cannons from 150 years ago and original walls and brick and all that, it was pretty cool. I also learned that the North used this Fort until the South took it over, and everytime the North tried taking it back, the slaves would help the South rebuild the fort and fortify it's defenses, which kinda seemed funny to me, since the Slaves basically helped the south keep them as slaves longer. Anybody else find that kind of ironic? Anyways, after that, we went back to the Navy Aircraft Carrier and explored for a couple more hours, we saw a bunch of navy airplaces and basically saw everything about the ship, the living quarters, places they ate, all that. And I can honestly say, I am really happy I did not join the Navy. After the ship, we went on a submarine to explore it, this only took about 20 minutes, it was also cool and living quarters were even tighter then on the navy ship. After all this, it was about 6 pm, We were all super tired of walking almost all day, and so we went to get some dinner, TGI Fridays, I wasn't very impressed though, I don't think I like that restaurant, it's the 3rd time I have had it in the last 2 months and it hasn't been that good any of the times. After dinner we drove back to base, I went in my room and watched the tv show "chuck" and went to bed.
Day 15. Sunday.
Today I was woken up by a text from the kid in the hospital, he needed a ride home and said he was about to be discharged.. So, I was the only one around, I went to pick him up. I got there and he was waiting for a doctor to sign him off and let him go. I was hungry so I went to the cafeteria and got food, and got Peters a coke. I came back, I ate, we watched scrubs, watched more scrubs, he showered, we watched Taxi, started watching Anger Management, and finally the doctor showed up, about 4 hours after I got there. They took off his bandages and I saw his elbow, about a 6 inch incision and about 50 staples were in his arm, it was gnarley looking. They gave him some metal arm brace and rewrapped his arm. We took off, got back to base just in time to leave again to go get dinner with some other fellas. They went to Zaxbys, I ran across the street to Arbys. We then just came back to base, it's 8:07, I am going to go to my room soon and shower and get ready for bed. All is well here. Looking forward to coming home. I hope all is well back home. Bye everyone.

Ten through Twelve.
Ten. Tuesday.
We had another quiz today, I got 100%.
After class I took a large nap before my Midnight showing of Harry Potter. I woke up around 9 pm and just played on the internet until I went to the movie. We got there about an hour early and most of that time was spent in line. We watched the movie and got back to base around 3:30 am and I got to bed successfully without waking up my roommate. Which was good.
Eleven. Wednesday.
Today I was tired pretty much all day because of my late night, but, I was happy. I didn't do anything today except eat dinner and play xbox in the day room with some of the guys, watched a couple episodes of The Big Bang Theory and was asleep by 10. My room mate took off until Sunday, so I have the room to myself again. Makes life better. So, Wednesday was a relaxing day.
Twelve. Thursday.
Today we had yet another quiz, I got 100%. we got released from class 2 hours early. I played on my laptop for a bit, and then me and a few guys went to Wyles Championship Bar-B-Que for dinner, which is some of the best bbq I have ever had. Pats BBQ in Salt Lake City is still my favorite place I think, so if you haven't ever been there, I recommend Pats. Anyways, after BBQ we went to a guitar store to look at guitars for one of the guys, he didn't buy one, just wanted to check some out. After that, we went to the mall to walk around, I didn't buy anything, but, it was still nice to just sorta do nothing and something at the same time... After that, we went to Walmart cause one of the guys wanted some ice cream sandwiches and some razors, I bought a t-shirt and we came back to the dorms. I chatted it up on facebook for a while with a good friend and here I am getting ready for bed, we have mandatory exercise tomorrow, we will be playing Ultimate Frisbee and Ultimate Football, so, should be pretty cool. Charleston on Saturday. should be fun, no accidents this time, hopefully. Cross your fingers for me!!
Also, I found out last Friday that one of my best friends is getting married. Sam Decker is marrying Jadie Ititysyano (It's Japanese) I am super happy for them, they are the perfect couple. I love them both. Congrats man!
Anyways, that is all I have for you. pretty boring/lame update.

Days 6 - 9. Saturday is the best day I think!!
Day 6. Friday.
Today, after class, we went and got a rental car and took for the day. We drove up to Beaufort, South Carolina for a water festival that our instructor had told us about, we got there around 3 pm and it ended up being really lame, a couple of tents and a couple food stands, pretty much nothing to do. So, we decided to drive up to Charleston, South Carolina. We got up there and drove around the town, drove across some really big bridges and kinda saw what the area looked like. We saw an Aircraft Carrier (Huge Navy ship with Fighter Jets on it) and saw a couple really huge ships that carry those big rectangle boxes, it was pretty neat. Anyways, we ended up parking down town and started walking around. We ate at some local pizza place that was pretty good. and then continued exploring the area. We found the Charleston Harbor eventually, which was really cool.
We then just found some places to chill, a couple guys drank and we went to a bar that was exactly like the bar out of "Coyote Ugly" The girls danced on the table and poured drinks into peoples mouths, it was crazy to actually see, but also really really noisy in there, I didn't like how loud it was, I am lame I guess, but I enjoy talking and socializing when I am out rather then just sitting there awkwardly.
After that, we left, by now it is Saturday, and Saturday is where it gets interesting!!!

Charleston Harbor!!
Saturday. Day 7.
Driving home, we were changing highways and going around a huge corner, our driver decided it would be awesome to drive like crap and he took the corner too fast and hit a curb, popped our tire, and bent the crap out of the RIM. So, we quickly swapped it to a spare, the alignment was off by a ton, it was pulling to the right a ton. We drove about 40 miles and our spare popped. So, it is now around 3:30 AM and we are about 15 miles away from our base, with two bad tires and really effed up alignment. We called a tow truck who got there within about 10 minutes which was awesome! But, the bad part of it was, 350 dollar charge. Our driver paid for it. The tow truck driver dropped our car off across the street from our base around 4 am and we walked on and got to bed.
We slept until early afternoon and spent the first part of the afternoon trying to find tires we could buy, nobody had any. We took our crappy tire into an auto store that could possibly fix it, but they ended up saying it was too screwed up (hitting a curb at 60 MPH does a lot to a car I guess) They ordered us a new tire and RIM and said it would be 173 all said and done and would be ready Monday. We took that for that and left. we went back to base and I just played pool and hung out with the guys in our day room (Big screen TV, Pool Table and wireless internet). Everybody decided they were going to go to Hooters that night to watch the UFC fights. So, I added myself to that group, I took a nap and was ready to go at 9. The fights started at 10. Hooters ended up being PACKED and we had to stand outside to watch the fights, but, it was still pretty cool. I had never watched Ultimate Fighting before and it was pretty gnarly. I enjoyed it. After that, we came back and went to bed.
Sunday, Day 8.
Woke up, and ate chow in the chow hall. Went to the day room and basically hung out here all day. Me and a couple guys wanted to go to the Mall, but two girls took the truck that everyone shares and went to the beach. The thing is, they both have there own cars here and basically screwed everyone out of going anywhere because they didn't want to drive there own cars 20 miles to the beach. Which pissed off pretty much everyone. So, we didn't do anything all Sunday. The girls got back about 5 - 6 hours later and by now everything was closed in town, sunday after 6 anywhere pretty much means you don't do anything. But, we took the truck anyways and drove around and explored. We ended up going to a steak house to get some food because someone was REALLY craving Steak (Not me) I got buffalo chicken wings. After that, went back and studied a bit and hit the hay.
Monday, Day 9.
I woke up this morning and about 5 minutes later the door was being knocked on, and I am confused, but I answer it anyways, and and and... It's a man, and he tells me "I am your room mate" What a crappy way to start my Monday. I hadn't had a room mate the whole first week because my original assigned room mate didn't show up to the class (which was just really lucky on my part) But, this guy is a month early to the class he is going to, so, that is why he is my room mate. I am so confused as to why they sent him here a month early. But, he has absolutely nothing to do all day while all the other guys are in class. Anyways, enough about that.. I have a room mate now and that is that.. Class was good, we had a quiz, i missed 2. Not bad. Then we just programmed the equipment all day, it was fun.. After class, we got the truck and went to pick up our new tire. As we picked it up it started to rain, by the time we got to the car it was a down pour, and by down pour, I mean, probably twice as bad as the worst rain storm Utah has ever had. Southern Rain is always about twice as bad as the worst Utah has every seen. They never have a light drizzle here. Just Down pours.. Anyways, we got to the car, and there was about 2 inches of rain water flowing through the parking lot right where the car was, so, we made the best of it, and got the new tire on in about 10 minutes. We were all completely soaked. But, for some reason, it was a lot of fun. Afterwards, I got in and pulled out and the tire was rubbing and the alignment was still effed. So, I drove back to the Car repair place (Savannah Tire) and the tire rubbing was SUPER noisy, I was really embarrassed pulling in the parking lot to the repair shop, the repair guys were all staring at me, I felt stupid. I get out and one repair guys says "Did ya hit something?" I was like "kinda" (since it wasn't me and I didn't feel like telling him our story) I go in and tell the guy who was helping us that we are back for alignment and he knew it was a rental car and basically told us he was going to make it "passable" by rental standards. They had to hammer the tire forward so it wasn't rubbing anymore and made the rental car drivable. . 109 dollars later I was on my way to the airport. We turned it in. No questions asked. Everything is perfect now. So, how much money did our driver spend, 350 + 173 + 109 = 632 or so. Dang.. Well, now I am back in the day room, using the internet, we ate chow. I found out I am going to go see the midnight showing of Harry Potter tomorrow night with a couple guys, we already have tickets, and that is going to be awesome!! I will be going running soon and life is happy. I hope everyone else is good! Seeya!!

Georgia 4 and 5.
Day 4. Wednesday.
Today, went to class. Normal times and everything. We set up the equipment, got out laptops to connect to the equipment with, and started programming on them. Basically, telling it how to work. It's a phone switch, so, we tell it how to make phone calls, what phone numbers, what types of phones, stuff like that. It was a pretty cool day. I basically tell everyone in my class that I am going to hack the crap out of them, but, I have no hacking skills, but they don't know that. So, right now, I am all talk. It's fun. After class, I went to walmart with some guy and a girl (who had a car) because the guy needed some blank cds, and I would rather go places then sit in my room, so, we went to w.mart and then went to this place called "Zaxbys" for dinner, it was a chicken place, sorta like chik-fil-a meets kfc, but better then both of them put together. I had a chicken Parmesan sandwich, after that, I came back, went running about an hour later and just chilled in my room watching the big bang theory and went to bed.. Not a bad day at all.
Day 5. Thursday.
We had our first quiz/test today.. 67 questions, I got 100%, but so did most everybody in the class, it wasn't hard at all. We finished up programming today, made the phones ring, called other peoples phones, and then we were done with the day, which was like 8 hours later.. so, programming and learning about what we were doing and why we did it took most of the day. Afterwards, I played a sweet game of star craft with Samuel Decker, we stomped the comps back, or we won. But saying it was a Comp Stomp is much cooler. After my game with Sam, I ate chow, it was fish and mashed potatoes, pretty much every meal has mashed potatoes and rice, so I alternate between the two. And now I am just in my room for the remainder of the evening. I am going all out lazy today. Just going to relax, and hopefully get to bed at a decent hour, and be ready for the last day of class before the weekend. Then, I should be doing all sorts of fun things around Savannah. Anyways people, keep in touch. Talking to my friends back home makes the time go by quicker and better.

Days 2 and 3 in Georgia!!
Day 2.
Today was basically an orientation day. We had to be to the building by 9, so, me and the two guys I know got up around 7ish and ate breakfast and we were done pretty quick, so I went and laid down for about 30 more minutes and then got ready and headed over. Orientation was basically all about safety, health, protecting equipment and a bunch of stuff, took several hours, we signed some stuff and then they sent us to lunch, after lunch, we went with our instructors to where we will be having class. We talked for about 3 minutes and then he released us for the day, about 2 1/2 hours earlier then a normal day. So, we went back, changed and a few people were going to the mall so we tagged along ("we" is me and the two guys from my unit) I got a new pillow since the ones supplied in our rooms are pretty much crap. I also got a Georgia Lottery ticket, $1 not well spent, I lost. After that, we went back to base, had dinner, and a little later I went running with the guys from home. I finished my day off with a shower and about 4 episodes of The Big Bang Theory, I am getting obsessed with this show.
Day 3.
Class starts at 9, so we did breakfast and headed to class (woke up a little later this time) Today we just basically went over power point slides talking about the equipment, we have our first quiz on Thursday, 67 questions!! Our instructor had some meeting at 1 pm today so he let us out at noon, and we had the rest of the day to do whatever. . So, we borrowed the truck and one other guy came along and we went downtown to "The Riverwalk" it's nothing like San Antonio's, same concept I guess, but it was more wide open and kinda crowded.. Either way, we went through a bunch of shops and it started down pouring while we were in the "Candy Kitchen" (a nice little candy shop that makes there own fudge and salt water taffy and ice cream, we tried a few things, they were all delicious) We just sorta hung out and slowly meandered down the walk, we asked some lady working where some good BBQ was, and she told us.. So we headed that direction (we had to drive) The place she told us was closed though, so, she had told us a second place that was across the street. We went there, it was pretty decent, but I think most of us want to hit up the first place she recommended, she said this guy had won every award you could possibly win with his bar-b-que. So, it should be good. Anyways, we came back to base, I came in my room and fell asleep (Not a good idea, because now I won't be able to fall asleep for my bedtime, so, it looks like i'll be watching some more Big Bang Theory tonight. Anyways, this place is pretty cool, we have a lot more to see and do in the town and the guy running this place wants to take everyone on a tour of Savannah and explain the history of the town and different areas, so that should be pretty cool. Anyways, hope all is well with everyone in Utah. Bye.

Bye.

Day 1 of Savannah, Georgia.
Well, to start off, the Last nine days in Utah were awesome. I spent a ton of time hanging out with my best friends, family and new friends that I met. It went by pretty quickly, but, that just means I was having fun. I departed for Savannah early this morning, I got to the airport at 6:30 AM, Two other guys from Unit are here as well, and one was there at 6:30 as well, so, we checked our baggage and then went and got some breakfast at some place in the airport. Our flight left at 8:25, so we had some time to kill, we both thought the airport would have been pretty busy since it was a Sunday morning on a Holiday weekend. (Nope, super duper slow) Anyways, we ate, chilled and the other guy showed up around 7:30ish. We then went and sat by our gate, boarded and flew to Atlanta, we had about an hour layover, which wasn't bad, we boarded, and then waited on the runway, then the pilot said "when i try and bring the left engine on, the electrical power goes out, we need to go back in and have it checked out"
So, we did that, took nearly 45 minutes before we were able to leave again, but the mechanic fixed it pretty quick, actually, he didn't fix the problem, he more or less bypassed the problem by using a generator. We didn't have any problems in flight though. Got here to Savannah around 4:45ish and a young guy was here to pick us up, he drove us to base, we got rooms, and he showed us where the Chow Hall was, so, me and the two guys went and ate, and I am now awaiting 7:30 to come, so I can take the group van to Walmart to get some essentials.
My room is nice though, 4 beds, I should only have one roommate, I don't have one here yet, so, maybe I will get lucky (fingers crossed) We don't have to be ready for class until 8:45 tomorrow, so, much better then the 6 AM wake ups that I had at Keesler in Mississippi. This should be a good trip though, looking forward to the class.
Hope everyone is good at home. If I didn't see you in my 9 days, I will for sure see you once I get back home again. July 31st is when I get back.
Peace out everybody!!
