Days 6 - 9. Saturday is the best day I think!!

Day 6. Friday.

Today, after class, we went and got a rental car and took for the day. We drove up to Beaufort, South Carolina for a water festival that our instructor had told us about, we got there around 3 pm and it ended up being really lame, a couple of tents and a couple food stands, pretty much nothing to do. So, we decided to drive up to Charleston, South Carolina. We got up there and drove around the town, drove across some really big bridges and kinda saw what the area looked like. We saw an Aircraft Carrier (Huge Navy ship with Fighter Jets on it) and saw a couple really huge ships that carry those big rectangle boxes, it was pretty neat. Anyways, we ended up parking down town and started walking around. We ate at some local pizza place that was pretty good. and then continued exploring the area. We found the Charleston Harbor eventually, which was really cool.
We then just found some places to chill, a couple guys drank and we went to a bar that was exactly like the bar out of "Coyote Ugly" The girls danced on the table and poured drinks into peoples mouths, it was crazy to actually see, but also really really noisy in there, I didn't like how loud it was, I am lame I guess, but I enjoy talking and socializing when I am out rather then just sitting there awkwardly.
After that, we left, by now it is Saturday, and Saturday is where it gets interesting!!!

Charleston Harbor!!

Saturday. Day 7.

Driving home, we were changing highways and going around a huge corner, our driver decided it would be awesome to drive like crap and he took the corner too fast and hit a curb, popped our tire, and bent the crap out of the RIM. So, we quickly swapped it to a spare, the alignment was off by a ton, it was pulling to the right a ton. We drove about 40 miles and our spare popped. So, it is now around 3:30 AM and we are about 15 miles away from our base, with two bad tires and really effed up alignment. We called a tow truck who got there within about 10 minutes which was awesome! But, the bad part of it was, 350 dollar charge. Our driver paid for it. The tow truck driver dropped our car off across the street from our base around 4 am and we walked on and got to bed.
We slept until early afternoon and spent the first part of the afternoon trying to find tires we could buy, nobody had any. We took our crappy tire into an auto store that could possibly fix it, but they ended up saying it was too screwed up (hitting a curb at 60 MPH does a lot to a car I guess) They ordered us a new tire and RIM and said it would be 173 all said and done and would be ready Monday. We took that for that and left. we went back to base and I just played pool and hung out with the guys in our day room (Big screen TV, Pool Table and wireless internet). Everybody decided they were going to go to Hooters that night to watch the UFC fights. So, I added myself to that group, I took a nap and was ready to go at 9. The fights started at 10. Hooters ended up being PACKED and we had to stand outside to watch the fights, but, it was still pretty cool. I had never watched Ultimate Fighting before and it was pretty gnarly. I enjoyed it. After that, we came back and went to bed.

Sunday, Day 8.

Woke up, and ate chow in the chow hall. Went to the day room and basically hung out here all day. Me and a couple guys wanted to go to the Mall, but two girls took the truck that everyone shares and went to the beach. The thing is, they both have there own cars here and basically screwed everyone out of going anywhere because they didn't want to drive there own cars 20 miles to the beach. Which pissed off pretty much everyone. So, we didn't do anything all Sunday. The girls got back about 5 - 6 hours later and by now everything was closed in town, sunday after 6 anywhere pretty much means you don't do anything. But, we took the truck anyways and drove around and explored. We ended up going to a steak house to get some food because someone was REALLY craving Steak (Not me) I got buffalo chicken wings. After that, went back and studied a bit and hit the hay.

Monday, Day 9.

I woke up this morning and about 5 minutes later the door was being knocked on, and I am confused, but I answer it anyways, and and and... It's a man, and he tells me "I am your room mate" What a crappy way to start my Monday. I hadn't had a room mate the whole first week because my original assigned room mate didn't show up to the class (which was just really lucky on my part) But, this guy is a month early to the class he is going to, so, that is why he is my room mate. I am so confused as to why they sent him here a month early. But, he has absolutely nothing to do all day while all the other guys are in class. Anyways, enough about that.. I have a room mate now and that is that.. Class was good, we had a quiz, i missed 2. Not bad. Then we just programmed the equipment all day, it was fun.. After class, we got the truck and went to pick up our new tire. As we picked it up it started to rain, by the time we got to the car it was a down pour, and by down pour, I mean, probably twice as bad as the worst rain storm Utah has ever had. Southern Rain is always about twice as bad as the worst Utah has every seen. They never have a light drizzle here. Just Down pours.. Anyways, we got to the car, and there was about 2 inches of rain water flowing through the parking lot right where the car was, so, we made the best of it, and got the new tire on in about 10 minutes. We were all completely soaked. But, for some reason, it was a lot of fun. Afterwards, I got in and pulled out and the tire was rubbing and the alignment was still effed. So, I drove back to the Car repair place (Savannah Tire) and the tire rubbing was SUPER noisy, I was really embarrassed pulling in the parking lot to the repair shop, the repair guys were all staring at me, I felt stupid. I get out and one repair guys says "Did ya hit something?" I was like "kinda" (since it wasn't me and I didn't feel like telling him our story) I go in and tell the guy who was helping us that we are back for alignment and he knew it was a rental car and basically told us he was going to make it "passable" by rental standards. They had to hammer the tire forward so it wasn't rubbing anymore and made the rental car drivable. . 109 dollars later I was on my way to the airport. We turned it in. No questions asked. Everything is perfect now. So, how much money did our driver spend, 350 + 173 + 109 = 632 or so. Dang.. Well, now I am back in the day room, using the internet, we ate chow. I found out I am going to go see the midnight showing of Harry Potter tomorrow night with a couple guys, we already have tickets, and that is going to be awesome!! I will be going running soon and life is happy. I hope everyone else is good! Seeya!!
